Elevator Expert Witness Services

TEC works with attorneys and insurance professionals on elevator, escalator and moving-walkway disputes and investigations. Before requesting an expert review, define the question the technical work must answer and organize the records supporting it. TEC does not store or preserve evidence on your behalf. Agree on document-handling arrangements before sending confidential records. This page explains preparation; the expert evaluation and testimony service describes the engagement.

Prepare an identifiable equipment record

Identify the building, the affected unit and the issue or reported event. Keep maintenance agreements, service tickets, inspection records, photographs and repair proposals together. Separate observations from a provider’s explanation, and flag missing records or conflicting accounts rather than filling the gaps with assumptions.

Agree on the question and deliverables

Discuss whether the assignment concerns equipment condition, a repair scope, maintenance obligations or another technical question. Clarify the available evidence, timing and expected deliverables with the reviewing team. An investigation should distinguish supported findings from matters that remain uncertain; legal strategy and legal advice remain with counsel.

Start with the appropriate scope

TEC brings its elevator-industry experience to evaluating the facts with your team. Review the preparation guidance for attorneys or equipment evidence for insurers and adjusters, then discuss the proposed assignment. Confirm the relevant expert’s qualifications and availability for the particular matter before engagement.
