1. Who we are
Axium LLC, doing business as The Elevator Consultants (TEC), is an independent vertical transportation consulting firm. We do not sell, install or service elevator equipment. This policy explains what we collect through theelevatorconsultant.com, why, and what you can do about it.

2. What this policy covers
This policy covers this website and the enquiry forms on it. It does not cover two things that sit alongside it:
- ElevatorApp. ElevatorApp is a separate company with its own website, its own accounts and its own privacy policy. Where this site links to it you are leaving TEC, and what happens there is governed by that policy, not this one.
- The bid portal. The bid portal is a private, login-only tool used by elevator service companies we invite to bid on client work. It is not open to the public. Account holders there are covered by the terms they accepted when their account was created.
We also link out to manufacturers, code bodies and industry publications. We are not responsible for what those sites do.
3. Information you give us
You can use most of this site without telling us anything. You give us information when you fill in a form.
Enquiry and service forms
Our forms ask for your name, email address and a description of your situation. A phone number and your state or building location are optional on most of them. We use this to answer you and, if you become a client, to do the work.
Documents you upload
Some forms let you attach a file, up to 2 MB, so we can look at the actual document rather than a description of it. In practice these are maintenance agreements, repair or modernization proposals, invoices, inspection reports and service records.
Those documents often name your building, your service provider and your contract pricing. We treat them as confidential and use them only to answer your question or carry out the work. Please do not send us financial account numbers, government identifiers or anything else you would not want in an email.

The questionnaires on our tools page can be used without giving a name or an email address. If you ask for your result by email, we use that address to send it and to follow up about elevator matters, and you can unsubscribe at any time.
4. Information collected automatically
Our host keeps standard web server logs: the requesting IP address, the browser and device, the pages requested, the referring page, and the date and time. These are used to run and secure the site and to understand how it is used. We also use cookies and similar technologies, described next.
5. Cookies and tracking
We use cookies and similar technologies to run this website, to understand how it is used, and to measure our advertising. Some are necessary for the site to work. Others are set by Google Analytics and Google Ads, and by Microsoft Clarity, which help us see which pages people find useful and whether our advertising reaches the right people.
If you are visiting from the European Union, the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, we ask for your consent before any analytics or advertising cookies are set, and nothing is set until you accept. If you are visiting from elsewhere, analytics and advertising cookies are set by default. You can change your choice at any time using the consent button on any page of this site, and you can set your browser to refuse cookies. Some features may not work properly if you do.
What is running on this site:
- Google Analytics. Which pages are read, how people arrive, which enquiries start. Analytics.
- Google Ads. Measures which adverts lead to an enquiry. Advertising.
- Google Tag Manager. Loads the two above and applies your consent choice. Necessary.
- Microsoft Clarity. Anonymous view of how pages are scrolled and clicked. Analytics.
- Google reCAPTCHA. Stops automated form spam. Necessary.
- CookieYes. Remembers your consent choice. Necessary.
- Cloudflare. Serves and protects the site. Necessary.
The countries where we ask first are the 27 European Union member states, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, the United Kingdom and Switzerland.
6. Advertising
We advertise on Google. Those adverts bring people to specific pages on this site, and we measure which of them lead to an enquiry so we are not paying for adverts that do nothing.
Where advertising cookies are active, Google may use them to show TEC adverts to people who have visited this site. We do not sell your information, and we do not give advertisers your name, email address or anything you have sent us.
7. Email
When you submit a form, the message is emailed to us and a copy is stored in the website database so we do not lose your enquiry if an email fails. Our outgoing mail is sent through a delivery provider so that it reaches you reliably rather than landing in spam.
If we email you about elevator matters after you have contacted us, every message carries an unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing stops the marketing email; it does not stop us replying to something you asked us.
8. How we use information

- To run, secure and improve the website
- To measure our advertising and understand which pages are useful
- To send you information about elevator matters, where you have asked for it or become a client, with an unsubscribe link every time
- To meet legal, tax and insurance obligations
We do not sell, rent or lease your information, and we do not make it available to unaffiliated parties except as set out in section 9.
9. Who we share it with
We share information with the companies that run parts of this service for us, and only so they can do that job: our hosting provider (the website and its database, including stored form submissions), Cloudflare (delivering and protecting the site), Google (analytics, advertising measurement and spam protection), Microsoft (Clarity analytics), and our email delivery provider (sending form notifications and our replies).
We may also share information with professional advisers, or where the law requires it, or to establish or defend a legal claim. If TEC is ever sold or merged, information may transfer as part of that business.
10. How long we keep it
Enquiries and the documents attached to them are kept for as long as we may reasonably need them for the matter you raised and for our own records, and then deleted. Client project records are kept longer, because consulting work is sometimes revisited years later and because insurance and professional obligations require it. Server logs and analytics data are kept on the retention schedule of the service concerned.
11. Security
The site runs over HTTPS, uploads are restricted by type and size, and forms are protected against automated abuse. We take reasonable measures to protect information from loss and unauthorised access. No website can promise perfect security, and we do not.
12. Your choices
- Cookies. Use the consent button on any page to change what you allow, or set your browser to refuse cookies.
- Email. Unsubscribe from any marketing message, or write to us.
- Access, correction and deletion. Write to info@theelevatorconsultant.com and tell us what you want. We will verify who you are before acting, and we will answer within the time the law where you live allows.
- Documents. If you have sent us a contract or a proposal and want it deleted, ask and we will delete it, unless we need it for work in progress or to meet a legal obligation.
If you are in the European Union, the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, you also have rights to object to and restrict processing, to data portability, and to complain to your data protection authority.
13. Children
This site is for building owners, managers and industry professionals. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has sent us information, tell us and we will delete it.
14. Changes
If we change this policy we will change the date at the top of this page. If the change materially affects what we collect or how we use it, we will say so on the site.
