Chicago AIC

The Annual Inspection Certification (AIC) is a City of Chicago program that requires building owners to examine and document their existing elevator equipment by a Qualified Elevator Inspector (QEI). The City of Chicago requires that inspectors must be licensed QEI to complete the AIC. The annual AIC are required to be done during the current calendar year. For example, the 2024 AIC should be completed in 2024. The AIC program was started to help the Chicago ensure that all buildings stay compliant with the city’s building code. All inspections are found in ASME 17.1. There is also required checklist that the city of Chicago provides.

The Elevator Consultants team performs the AIC for building owners.
